Principal Accountabilities Stay up to date regarding curriculum content. Plan and assess curriculum and instruction effectively. Mentor students’ understanding of the curriculum and adjust instruction, materials, or assessments when appropriate. Manage the classroom environment effectively. Deliver instruction that makes learning goals clear, using appropriate instructional and questioning techniques. Use innovative approaches and instructional strategies, including technology, to increase student learning and confidence. Promote high standards and expectations for student achievement. Promote equity and appreciation of diversity to ensure equitable learning opportunities, including strategies for students with special needs, 504 plans, or second‑language learners. Perform other job‑related duties as assigned. Collaborate with SPED and ELL specialists to meet specific student needs. Prepare students for MCAS. Understand high‑school philosophy and structure of high‑school teams. Maintain data and documentation as appropriate. Participate in school‑wide professional development and seek continual feedback and coaching to develop as a teacher. Ensure equal educational opportunity for all individuals regardless of protected characteristics. Complete any other duties assigned by the Superintendent of Schools.

QUALIFICATIONS - REQUIRED

Education: Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited institution. Hold a valid Massachusetts Teaching License in ESL 5‑12. Hold a valid Massachusetts SEI Endorsement. Meet all state and federal guidelines for full licensure and high qualification. Current authorization to work in the United States, with such authorization by the first day of employment. Demonstrated experience in English Language Development (ELD) and Sheltered English Immersion (SEI) strategies.

QUALIFICATIONS - PREFERRED

Experience in urban, high‑poverty, and/or turnaround schools. Major/minor in a specific teaching content area. Additional certification in Teacher of Students with Moderate Disabilities. Bilingual language proficiency (Spanish/English) strongly preferred.
