Velaspan is hiring a Wireless Engineer I based in our Allentown, PA office. This role supports customer projects in the field while helping candidates build hands-on wireless networking knowledge alongside experienced engineers. We welcome applicants with relevant education, early-career experience, or stronger related backgrounds. This is a growth-oriented role with travel as a regular part of the job. The Allentown office serves as the home base, and team members will spend substantial time supporting customer environments on-site across the country. Position Snapshot Location Based in Allentown, PA, with the office serving as home base for the role Travel Typically 50–75% customer-site travel, primarily domestic, with occasional broader travel as needed Work Style Combination of in-office collaboration, field-based customer work, and project documentation Compensation Compensation aligned with experience, technical background, and overall fit for the role Career Path Opportunity to grow into broader wireless engineering and consulting responsibilities over time What You'll Do Travel to customer sites to perform wireless site surveys, RF data collection, and other field-based project work Gather and document site conditions, infrastructure constraints, and environmental details that affect wireless performance Support active, passive, and predictive survey efforts across a variety of industries and facility types Prepare organized survey notes, reports, and supporting documentation for internal teams and clients Work closely with senior engineers to understand how field findings translate into design and consulting recommendations Represent Velaspan professionally on-site through strong communication, sound judgment, and customer-focused service Who This Role Is Great For Candidates with education in networking, information technology, computer information systems, or a related technical field Recent graduates and early-career professionals who want to build a long-term career in wireless networking Candidates with relevant technical experience who are interested in a hands-on, travel-based wireless engineering role People who communicate clearly, stay organized, and bring a professional, customer-centered approach to their work Individuals who enjoy variety, field work, and learning in real-world environments rather than sitting behind a desk full-time What We're Looking For Foundational understanding of IP networking, switching, routing, and wireless access points Ability and willingness to travel regularly and work effectively in customer environments Strong communication, organization, and time-management skills Valid driver's license and ability to travel by car and air Comfort working at heights and using basic hand tools Professional presence, positive attitude, and a willingness to learn Helpful Qualifications Internship, co-op, lab, or work experience in networking, wireless, or IT support Exposure to WLAN, RF concepts, or wireless survey tools such as Ekahau, Hamina, or similar platforms Certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, CWNA or CompTIA Network+ Experience preparing technical documentation or supporting customer-facing project work About Velaspan Velaspan, Inc. is a computer systems consulting firm specializing in wireless communications and cybersecurity solutions for businesses across a wide range of industries.
