We connect you with verified openings from employers you can trust. Job Summary: Amazon is a leading technology company seeking an Applied Scientist for their SCOT-Inbound Systems team. In this role, you will design and implement scientific research projects, focusing on optimization, statistics, and simulation to enhance the fulfillment network's performance. Responsibilities:
- Initiate the design, development, execution and implementation of scientific research projects.
- Work closely with fellow scientists and product managers.
- Use experience in optimization, statistics, and simulation to design models of new policies, simulate their performance, and evaluate their benefits and impacts to cost, reliability, and speed of our fulfillment network.
- Mine and analyze large data, and use necessary programming and statistical analysis software/tools.
- 3+ years of building models for business application experience
- PhD, or Master's degree and 4+ years of CS, CE, ML or related field experience
- Experience in patents or publications at top-tier peer-reviewed conferences or journals
- Experience programming in Java, C++, Python or related language
- Experience in any of the following areas: algorithms and data structures, parsing, numerical optimization, data mining, parallel and distributed computing, high-performance computing
