About the role

We are looking for a sharp writer and researcher to strengthen how we pursue and win the right work. You will sit close to our proposal pipeline and our public voice. You will help us submit stronger proposals, publish clearer opinion pieces, and steward the relationships that make our subconsultant network run. This role rewards curiosity, initiative, and a genuine interest in the nonprofit and public policy landscape.

You will report to the founder and work independently on a weekly rhythm you help manage.

What you will do

• Peer review requests for proposals before we submit them. You will tighten the argument, sharpen the writing, and conduct research that gives each proposal deeper contextual grounding.
• Revise op-eds drafted by the founder so they land with clarity and confidence.
• Review our BidPrime list to identify and recommend mission-aligned opportunities worth pursuing.
• Interact lightly with subconsultants as we design incentives and gratitude packages that recognize their ongoing collaboration.

What you bring

• Strong writing skills. This is the core of the role. We ask every applicant to submit two writing samples produced without AI assistance. We permit the use of AI in the work itself, and we hire people who can write well on their own first.
• Enrollment in a doctoral program, preferably in public policy or the humanities.
• A self-starter mindset and strong organization. You manage your own time, track your commitments, and follow through without close supervision.
