MRI Technologist

As an MRI Technologist, you are responsible for patient safety and the performance of high‑quality MR studies, on site and/or remote. You ensure effective communication with the radiologist, team members, patients, and customers, particularly in a mobile environment. When required, you train, orient, and supervise new technologists, patient coordinators, and MR Technologist Assistants. Responsibilities Responsible for patient safety, including pre‑screening for contraindications and performing aseptic injection technique. Oversee remote MR Technologists Assistants as needed. Produce high‑quality diagnostic images and operate multiple MR systems. Use all channels of communication to address concerns, solve problems, and resolve conflict. Effectively communicate with customers and radiologists. Train and orient new technologists, patient coordinators, and MR Technologist Assistants, on site and/or remote. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent experience. ARRT (R), ARRT (MR), or ARMRIT certification (or ARRT in lieu, as specified by contract). State license, if applicable. CPR certification. Valid state driver’s license, as applicable. 3 months supervised MRI clinical scanning experience or enrollment in an accredited MRI training program for more than 6 months. No experience required for MR registered technologist RT(MR) or ARMRIT. Strong customer service, organizational, and multi‑tasking skills. Basic knowledge of computer applications and programs. Ability to work at several locations. Preferred: Associate’s Degree or equivalent experience. Registry in Magnetic Resonance by the ARRT. 1 year of Magnetic Resonance Imaging experience. COVID‑19 vaccination is/may be a condition of employment. Local travel may be required. Physical Requirements May be exposed to outside weather conditions during transport of patients if working on a mobile unit. Will be exposed to a strong magnetic field. May be exposed to blood/body fluids and infectious disease, including communicable disease when interacting with patients. More than 50% of the time: sit, stand, walk; repetitive movements of hands, arms, and legs; see, speak, and hear to communicate with patients. Less than 50% of the time: stoop, kneel or crawl; climb and balance; carry and lift (ability to move non‑ambulatory patients from a sitting or lying position for transfer or to exam).
