Registered Nurse (RN) Unit Coordinator - Intermediate Care Unit (Stepdown) Sentara Leigh Hospital is hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) Unit Coordinator for our Intermediate Care Unit (Stepdown). This 24-bed unit blends 8 Step-Down beds for patients who are too ill for general medical/surgical, but do not need an intensive level of care for the ICU. 16 beds in this unit are for Med/Surg patients to include some cardiac. City/State: Norfolk, VA Work Shift: First (Days) Hours/Shift: Full Time (36 hr/week) Core Responsibilities: Demonstrates proficiency in nursing practice for assigned specialty area and provides clinical leadership for the delivery of nursing care in a department. Under the direction of the department manager leads safety and quality initiatives, focuses on and simplifies workflow, and contributes to the development of staff. Increases staff satisfaction and promotes excellent (Gold Standard) customer service. Applies knowledge and skills to meet standards as required by specific clinical areas.
