Ophthalmic Technician PositionThe Ophthalmic Technician supports the Ophthalmology department and physicians by serving as the first point of contact for patients in the exam room. The role involves performing both clinical and technical tasks to assist with patient evaluations and ensure efficient clinic flow.Key Responsibilities:Obtain baseline information for the physician, including all ancillary testingConduct initial patient history, documenting presenting complaint, past ocular history, medications, and allergiesMeasure and record visual acuity, refraction, color testing, lensometry, and intraocular pressurePerform ancillary testing such as visual fields, corneal topography, HRT, OCT, A & B scans, and fundus photographyAssist with exam preparation and patient flow within the departmentCarry out assignments under the supervision of a licensed medical practitioner or health professionalPerform additional duties as assignedQualifications:Minimum 1 year of experience as an Ophthalmic TechnicianHigh school diploma or equivalent requiredStrong communication and organizational skillsAbility to multitask and work collaboratively in a clinical environmentFlexibility to float between locations when requiredSend resumes View email address on click.appcast.io
