Data Center Due Diligence - Water Lead

Role Description

Stantec is looking for an outgoing water professional to lead a team delivering planning and due diligence work for data center projects throughout the United States. The role will focus on water aspects of planning and due diligence reviews including potable/drinking water supply, wastewater disposal, and stormwater management. You will be client facing and lead both marketing/pursuit efforts as well as technical project delivery. The role will work closely with the larger Stantec team delivering multi-disciplined due diligence reviews for data center projects.

Being part of the Water team, you will work with Stantec's industry leading Water professionals which includes over 4,000 Water staff in North America.

Your Key Responsibilities

• Lead and support projects related to due diligence reviews for data centers.
• Build client relationships.
• Collaborate with other Stantec team members to develop project proposals and deliver technical work.
• Lead multi-discipline teams to deliver due diligence reviews.
• Engage internally throughout the organization with staff in multiple geographies, experience levels, and background/expertise.
• Periodic travel to meet with project stakeholders at potential project locations (approximately 10-30% of time).
• Work with the project team to implement standard operating procedures and project tools to ensure consistent delivery of due diligence projects.
• Develop and manage the approved scope, budget, invoicing, and schedule on multiple projects simultaneously.
• Identify appropriate resources and skill sets to achieve project objectives.
• Embrace Stantec's internal policies and practices, including risk management, project management, quality management, and modeling discipline protocols.
• Maintain and enhance relationships with clients, approval agencies, and industry professionals by providing exceptional service.
• Provide mentoring and training for future leaders to support their career growth, including supervising junior staff.
• Promote collaboration and teamwork across engineering disciplines, business lines, and geographies.
• Perform other duties as needed.

Qualifications

• Proven project management and technical skills applicable to municipal water infrastructure projects.
• Experienced in organizing, planning, and executing water infrastructure projects.
• Ability to make sound defensible business decisions, and identify, assess, evaluate, and solve complex problems.
• Demonstrate ability to communicate technical information internally and externally in a clear, concise manner.
• Experience with client management and building client relationships.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience in supervising, teaching, and mentoring other staff.

Requirements

• Education: Minimum Bachelor's degree in a scientific or engineering related technical discipline.
• Experience: Minimum 12 years relevant professional experience, with at least 5 years of experience managing and/or coordinating projects.
• Licenses/Certifications: Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) is preferred, but not required.
