Payroll Accountant

Century Group is partnering with a client that is seeking a Payroll Accountant to join their team. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. Expected starting base salary of $70,000 to $85,000 per year. Job Responsibilities Record and reconcile payroll related general ledger activity including journal entries, accruals and balance sheet accounts. Support payroll processing cycles by posting payroll entries and coordinating with payroll teams across regions. Prepare and manage payroll tax benefit and wage accruals including retirement and reimbursement programs. Participate in month end close by reviewing reconciliations, supporting documentation and resolving discrepancies. Collaborate with accounting, finance and payroll partners to improve processes and complete special projects as assigned. Requirements A Bachelor degree in accounting, finance or a related discipline. 3+ years of general ledger or accounting experience within a mid size or large organization. Demonstrate strong knowledge of payroll related accounting requirements and financial close processes. Use Microsoft Office at an advanced level with strong analytical and financial reporting skills. Communicate effectively and work closely with cross functional teams to meet deadlines and accuracy standards. Qualifications Perform payroll reconciliations including wages, benefits, taxes and cash with strong attention to detail. Analyze payroll system billing data and coordinate payments and corrections as needed. Support labor and allocation processes in partnership with planning and accounting teams. Recommend and implement process improvements that enhance efficiency and data accuracy. Bring experience with modern payroll platforms or payroll accounting backgrounds considered beneficial.
