Senior Property Accountant

Our client is seeking a Senior Property Accountant to join their corporate accounting team. This role supports the financial operations of multiple locations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, strong internal controls, and timely month-end close activities. The Senior Accountant will partner closely with operational teams and leadership to maintain financial integrity and provide meaningful reporting that supports business decisions. Key Responsibilities: Perform month-end close activities, including preparing journal entries and completing balance sheet reconciliations. Manage full-cycle accounting for 7-10 residential properties Reconcile general ledger and sub-ledger accounts and investigate and resolve discrepancies. Review and approve cash disbursements for assigned locations. Prepare operating statements and financial reports for assigned business units. Develop financial reporting packages for owners, lenders, and regulatory agencies. Analyze financial results and provide ad hoc reporting and analysis as needed. Support and guide operational teams with accounting-related questions and financial reviews. Assist with internal and external audits, including preparation of supporting documentation. Contribute to process improvements, reconciliations, and other accounting initiatives. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required. Minimum 3+ years of accounting experience, including financial statement preparation. Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting practices. Experience with Yardi Excellent attention to detail, organization, and communication skills.
