Overview Patient Care Technician - Med/Surg Marshalltown Hospital Department: Med/Surg Schedule: : Part Time | 24 hours per week | 6:00 PM-6:30 AM | 2 shifts per week | Every 3rd weekend and holiday rotation Join the Med/Surg team at Marshalltown Hospital as a Patient Care Technician and make a meaningful difference in patients’ experiences each day. Responsibilities Provide hands-on support with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, mobility, toileting, and other personal care needs. Obtain and document vital signs, weights, intake and output, and other patient information. Respond to call lights and patient requests with compassion, professionalism, and attention to safety. Assist with clinical tasks such as blood glucose testing, specimen collection, pulse oximetry, EKGs, and simple dressings as trained and directed. Observe patients and promptly communicate changes in condition or other important information to the nursing team. Safely assist with patient mobility, transfers, transport, admissions, discharges, and procedures. Accurately document patient care and observations in the electronic medical record. Help prepare patient rooms and care areas while maintaining a clean, organized, and well-stocked environment. Collaborate with nurses and other members of the healthcare team to support coordinated, patient- and family-centered care.
