Make a meaningful difference by providing specialized educational support as an in-home tutor for students in El Segundo, CA during the 26/27 school year. This contract position is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Special Education Teacher with CA Mild/Moderate credentials looking to work part-time and create a positive impact in a personalized learning environment.

You’ll work directly with a male student entering the 9th grade, providing 5 hours of tailored instruction per week across two homes. The specific schedule is flexible, with session times negotiated to best fit the needs of both the student and tutor.

Qualifications:

• Active California Mild/Moderate Education Specialist Credential (required)
• Prior experience in special education, ideally in home or one-on-one settings
• Familiarity with mild/moderate caseloads and individualized instruction
• Ability to build rapport and foster student engagement
• Strong communication skills with families and support teams
• Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and upholding professional standards

Responsibilities:

• Deliver engaging, standards-based instruction aligned with the student's IEP goals
• Adapt teaching strategies to fit individual learning styles and needs
• Track student progress and maintain thorough documentation
• Collaborate with families and district staff to ensure a cohesive educational experience
• Create a safe and supportive in-home learning environment
