About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Med Surg/Telemetry Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar role License: Current RN License Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS Must-Have: - Previous Charge Experience - Experience with Epic charting system - Patient Ratio Experience: 5:1 Description: Provides direct nursing care for patients of all age and developmental stages in assigned areas using the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Responsible for managing care of assigned patients and directing activities of ancillary staff. Assesses patients' physiological and psychological needs and strengths in a competent and comprehensive manner. Plans, implements, and evaluates patients' care plan. Demonstrates commitment to professional practice, including skills necessary to manage a patient care assignment in a cost-justifiable manner. Demonstrates leadership skills through performance of charge nurse functions. Works collaboratively with interdisciplinary support teams including physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, rapid response teams, pharmacy, transportation, and unit secretaries. Cares for patients with a variety of diagnoses including CHF, COPD, diabetes, CVA, pneumonia, sepsis, and post-surgical conditions. Engages in necessary patient care activities as defined by unit protocols.
