Physician Assistant - OR, Robotics - Per Diem

Overview Major functions include serving as a member of the surgical team to function as a Per Diem Physician Assistant for surgical service lines, including Urology, General, Gynecology, Thoracic and Cardio-thoracic robotic surgical procedures in the Operating Room. Responsibilities include collaboration with interdisciplinary team members, setting up robotic cases, oversight of robotic instrumentation and hardware/software, communication with vendors, teaching of residents, fellows and nursing staff assigned to this surgical specialty, and recording and storage of video records of procedures. Responsibilities also include setting up the DaVinci robot for a surgical case, placement of trocars with resident/fellow members of the surgical team, and laparoscopic assistance during the procedure. The PA primarily interacts with the ANI for the various service lines and acts as a liaison between nursing staff, residents, and physicians to provide effective and consistent surgical care. Ensures operative cases run smoothly and efficiently and facilitates operating room turnover and setup of surgical cases, including facilitation of the consent process.
