Controls Engineer - Senior

We are looking for a talented Controls Engineer - Senior to join our team specializing in Manufacturing in Columbus, IN.In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:Design and implement robust control systems that reliably meet performance, safety, and regulatory specifications.Develop and execute bench tests to validate system functionality, reduce risk, and ensure readiness for field deployment.Troubleshoot, debug, and modify software and equipment to resolve complex sensor, actuator, and system-level issues efficiently.Support change requests by analyzing root causes and implementing sustainable technical solutions with minimal operational impact.Prepare accurate cost estimates, equipment lists, and appropriation requests to support informed financial and capital planning decisions.Investigate project requirements and constraints, developing solution plans that balance technical performance with economic, personnel, and environmental considerations.Install, configure, and provide technical support for PLC-based hardware and software, ensuring seamless integration into operations.Coach and mentor junior Controls Engineers, strengthening team capability, technical rigor, and long-term engineering excellence.Cummins is an equal opportunity employer. Collaborate with Maintenance to troubleshoot manufacturing equipment to ensure machine availability. Lead process improvement projects.Technical support for part tracking / traceability requirements. Collaborate with I.T. to implement and maintain process.Engineering support for advanced technology (i.e. Cobots, AMR, SIM models, etc.)Lead engineer maintaining Production Information Management System Develop and maintain Power Bi system to monitor machine performance.
