Human Resources Business Partner

Amalgamated Sugar Company is seeking an experienced Human Resources Business Partner to join our Corporate Human Resources team. This role serves as a trusted partner to employees and leaders across the organization, supporting a broad range of Human Resources functions including employee relations, talent acquisition, onboarding, leave administration, compliance, HRIS administration, employee engagement, training, and performance management. We are looking for a collaborative HR professional who exercises sound judgment, provides exceptional customer service, and thrives in a fast-paced environment. This position offers the opportunity to influence employee experience while supporting key business objectives across the company. Serve as a trusted HR resource to employees and leaders, providing guidance on HR policies, procedures, and employment-related matters. Support the full employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, transfers, promotions, and offboarding. Coordinate new hire orientation and onboarding activities. Administer salaried employee leave programs, including FMLA and other protected leaves. Maintain accurate HRIS and personnel records while ensuring data integrity and confidentiality. Prepare employment verifications, state new hire reporting, tax credit screenings, and other employment documentation. Support performance management processes, employee engagement initiatives, and leadership development efforts. Partner with leaders on employee relations, organizational effectiveness, workforce planning, and talent development. Assist with benefits administration and provide backup support during open enrollment and other benefits activities. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and company policies. Prepare HR reports, support audits, analyze workforce data, and participate in special projects. Assist with internal communications and continuous improvement initiatives. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred. SHRM-CP or PHR certification preferred. Three to five years of progressively responsible Human Resources experience as a Business Partner, Generalist or similar role preferred. Experience supporting multiple HR disciplines including employee relations, recruiting, leave administration, performance management, compliance, and HRIS administration. Working knowledge of employment laws including FMLA, ADA, FLSA, EEO, and other applicable federal and state regulations. Experience with HRIS systems; UKG experience is preferred. Strong interpersonal, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality, exercise sound judgment, and manage multiple priorities.
