Database Administrator, Senior

Senior Database Administrator – Secret Clearance (Top Secret eligibility required). The position is based in Albuquerque, NM and supports the Defense Threat Reduction Agency’s Defense Stockpile Management Systems, including DIAMONDS, JADE, NIMACS, GAT, and DATS. Responsibilities Resolve complex database performance, capacity, resiliency, stability, and replication issues. Perform testing, analysis, and modification of existing SQL stored procedures. Evaluate, refine, and tune Oracle database objects to support applications. Install, upgrade, patch, secure, diagnose and troubleshoot Oracle Database versions 12.2 through 19.26. Document, troubleshoot, and formally escalatetechnical issues as needed. Collaborate with application development teams on data‑oriented development efforts. Coordinate with support centers to resolve emerging problems promptly. Assist with analysis and documentation of user requirements. Implement system security patches and Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs). Maintain an electronic repository of all database baselines, changes, and documentation. Research and recommend solutions that align with program and operational needs. Gather business rules and requirements with senior application development managers. Evaluate existing database structures and propose solutions to enhance efficiency while maintaining data integrity. Create database schemas and objects (tables, columns, triggers, stored procedures, scheduled jobs). Generate database models based on current and future customer requirements. Review, revise, and integrate database change requests. Use tools such as Visual Studio, Toad Data Modeler, SQL*Plus, Team Foundation Server, Azure DevOps, Jira, and SolarWinds Helpdesk. Qualifications Robust experience administering Oracle Database Enterprise Editions. Advanced analytical and problem‑solving skills. Proficiency in time management, organizational skills, and meeting deadlines. Strong understanding of Oracle Data Guard Replication and Recovery Manager. Experience with Linux and Windows operating system administration and troubleshooting. Extensive knowledge of relational database concepts, modeling, design, and creation. Proficiency in creating database schemas and objects following Oracle industry standards. Experience with pluggable database operations in multitenant environments. Programming experience with SQL, PL/SQL, Shell scripts, and batch scripts. Demonstrated troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills for critical database, application, network, and system issues. Ability to work independently and as part of a team under pressure. Understanding of the Open Systems Interconnection (OSI) model. Experience with Oracle best practices, concepts, and technologies. Versatile, flexible, and proactive in resolving technical issues. Minimum Education & Experience Oracle 19c Certified Associate (OCA) and Oracle 19c Certified Professional (OCP) required. Minimum 5+years of direct DBA experience with Oracle Enterprise Editions. Minimum 7+years of increasing responsibility in Oracle Application Development and Database Administration. Minimum 5+years of direct IT experience supporting database environments on RHEL and Windows platforms. DoD final Secret clearance required, with eligibility to obtain Top Secret. Comptia “Security+” certification (or equivalent) per DoD Directive8140.01 Cyberspace Workforce Management requirements upon hire.
