Base salary: $180k-$300k

Pillar is building the next-generation commodity risk management stack for the $10T physical economy. We combine real-time marketdata with AI-powered exposure modeling and automated trade generation to arm operators with precise protection from volatility. From instant execution to continuous monitoring, alerts, and recommendations, Pillar turns complex market risk into a fully managed, always-on hedging engine.
We were founded in 2023 by the youngest macro market-maker at Barclays and a trading systems engineer at Coinbase, and have raised over $20M in capital from Andreesen Horowitz (a16z), Crucible Capital, Neo, DST Global and more.
What You'll Do
- Own core product features end-to-end — from concept and architecture to shipping, iteration, and scaling
- Architect and build high-performance UIs that render automated hedge recommendations, track open positions, and show real time marketdata
- Lead the rebuild and evolution of product architecture across the stack—including UI foundations and backend APIs—to enable speed, reliability, and scale
- Work directly with founders, and customers to define product direction and translate complex risk workflows into intuitive experiences
- Lead the development of AI-enabled features, integrating LLMs and model-driven insights into mission-critical operator workflows
- Drive engineering best practices, mentor other engineers, and help shape Pillar's product and technical culture
What We Are Looking For
- Product Ownership: You have a proven track record of building products and leading 0 → 1 initiatives
- Full Stack Experience: A strong background in React/Typescript and familiarity with NextJS, and in building complex, performant UIs. Comfortable working across the stack, including back-end API's and integrations, but with a bias towards front-end
- AI-Enabled Product Development: Experience and interest in building AI enabled products, which leverage AI to solve real problems for customers
- Bias for Speed and Ownership: Value for shipping fast and willingness to problem solve
- Teamwork and Communication: Enjoy working with and leading teams as well as working individually, and are able to clearly communicate with others.
Nice to Have
- Familiarity with Golang
- Real-time rendering with streaming/websockets
- Prior Fintech experience
