Title of Role: Fullstack Software Engineer (Frontend-Leaning, AI Product) Location: Palo Alto, CA Company Stage of Funding: Seed Stage (~$6M raised) Office Type: Hybrid (3 days/week in office) Salary: $145,000 - $215,000 + Equity Company Description Our client is an early-stage, venture-backed AI startup reimagining how product and engineering teams collaborate. They are building an AI-native, multiplayer-first documentation and alignment platform-designed to eliminate coordination overhead and replace traditional tools with intelligent, real-time collaboration systems. Founded by a former CPO-level executive from leading tech companies and backed by top-tier investors, the company is assembling a small, high-caliber team to build a category-defining product at the intersection of AI, devtools, and productivity software. What You Will Do Own frontend-heavy product features end-to-end, from ideation through deployment Build complex, interactive user interfaces using React, Next.js, and TypeScript Develop and scale a real-time, multiplayer AI-native document editor Integrate frontend systems with backend AI services and APIs Contribute to frontend architecture, design systems, and technical strategy Collaborate closely with product, design, and engineering leadership Work in a high-autonomy environment, taking ownership of ambiguous problems Rapidly prototype and ship features leveraging modern AI development tools Ideal Candidate Background 4+ years of experience in frontend or frontend-leaning full-stack engineering Strong expertise in TypeScript and React (Next.js preferred) Experience building complex, user-facing products (editors, collaboration tools, or similar) Experience working in startup or high-growth environments Strong product intuition and focus on user experience Ability to operate independently and take ownership of features Strong communication skills and collaborative mindset Preferred Experience building real-time or multiplayer applications (WebSockets, CRDTs, etc.) Experience at both Big Tech and startups (ideal trajectory) Familiarity with AI-powered product development or LLM integrations Experience with modern frontend tooling (Redux, design systems, component libraries) Strong academic background (STEM from top-tier institutions) Experience with design tools (Figma, Sketch) Compensation and Benefits Competitive base salary: $145,000 - $215,000 Competitive equity package Hybrid work flexibility (3 days/week in Palo Alto) High ownership as an early engineering hire (team of ~8) Work directly with experienced leadership from top tech companies Opportunity to build a category-defining AI product Fast-paced, builder-led, low-bureaucracy culture This is an ideal role for frontend-focused engineers who want to build complex, AI-powered user experiences from the ground up in a high-ownership startup environment.
