Catholic Community Services’ Counseling, Recovery & Wellness (CReW) Program is a licensed community mental health and substance use disorder treatment program and provider of the King County Integrated Care Network (KC-ICN). Our collaborative team focuses on serving adults with mental illness and/or substance use disorders to help improve individuals’ quality of life. Range of services includes diagnostic assessments, individual therapy, peer support, case management, group counseling, skills training, care coordination, medication management, and psychoeducation. Services offered emphasize building collaborative relationships with the persons served as the first step towards lasting engagement in treatment. Our team was created out of the need for onsite supportive services in our agency housing and shelter programs, and we adapt our services to best fit the unique needs of our clients in a variety of locations throughout King County. How YOU can make a difference: The Psychiatric Provider (ARNP or MD), either an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (ARNP) or a Psychiatrist, provides direct psychiatric services to adults with mental illnesses, many of whom are homeless or formerly homeless and have co-occurring substance use disorders. The Provider works in collaboration with the CReW Certified Nursing Assistant, Registered Nurse, program administration, as well as counselors and case managers on the team to ensure quality medical care of individuals with complex needs. The Provider also participates in quality clinical consultation and support to staff on benefits and risks of psychotropic medication as prescribed to individuals with chronic conditions. Psychiatric services are primarily offered at CReW’s downtown Seattle location at the Josephinum Apartments, and other offices within South King County are available as work locations as well depending upon Provider availability and interest. The Psychiatric Provider, either an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (ARNP) or a Psychiatrist, provides direct psychiatric services to adults with mental illnesses, many of whom are homeless or formerly homeless and have co-occurring substance use disorders. This position also includes provision of Medications for Opioid Use Disorders (MOUD) as part of a developing addiction medicine team within the CReW program. The Provider works in collaboration with CReW Medical Assistants, Registered Nurses, program administration, as well as clinicians and counselors on the team to ensure quality medical care for individuals with complex behavioral and medical needs. The Provider participates in collaborative clinical consultation with clinical team members regarding best practices for psychiatric care and reviewing the nuances of prescribing for individuals with chronic medical conditions and co-occurring substance use disorders. The provider will participate in providing education about pharmacotherapy both informally, and formally as team needs arise. Psychiatric services are primarily offered at CReW’s downtown Seattle locations, and other offices within South King County. Work at housing and shelter sites, when an option, may be requested, and hybrid schedules to allow for some remote workdays during the week can be accommodated. Work location: (1) Westlake (Seattle), On-site Benefits & Compensation This is a Part-time, 20-40 hrs./week position starting at $90 - $100.00/hr. Prescribes and provides medication management as appropriate for psychiatric diagnosis and provides ongoing medication management services. Provides regular psychiatric/medical consultation and direction to clinical staff. Conducts evaluation of Opioid Use Disorder (OUD) for clients who self-identify as using opioids and are seeking treatment to support their goal of reduction or cessation of opioids. Prescribes Medications for Opioid Use Disorder (MOUD) for client with OUD, including vivitrol and buprenorphine in both oral and injectable form, depending on patient preference Coordinates care with other involved medical providers. Completes all paperwork and record keeping required of position. Provides periodic in-service training, as schedule permits, to staff regarding psychiatric/medical and clinical issues. Responsible for upholding a culture of privacy and security in a highly confidential work environment (HIPAA covered entity service area). Complies with all CCSWW policies and procedures that involve access to and safeguarding of client Protected Health Information (all forms). Qualifications Minimum Qualifications Licensed to practice as an ARNP or MD in the State of Washington with full prescriptive authority and DEA certificate in good standing. Two+ years of experience working with adults with serious mental illness in an inpatient or outpatient clinical setting. One year+ direct experience with individuals who have severe substance use disorders Completed training on suicide risk prevention and assessment Demonstrated competence in assessment, diagnosis, medication evaluation and current, sound prescriptive practices for seriously disturbed adults. Commitment to working collaboratively with staff of diverse backgrounds, training, and levels of experience promoting teamwork in a multi-disciplinary environment. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and positively, both verbally and in writing. Demonstrated commitment to preservation of a workplace which embraces diversity. Preferred Qualifications Ability and willingness to provide clinical training to staff on psychotropic medications, diagnostic formulations, or other relevant topics as requested by program leadership. Interest and/or experience in working in dynamic clinic and community settings. Previous experience with diagnosis and treatment of Opioid Use Disorder. Interest in learning about innovative strategies for buprenorphine inductions and applying them in clinical practice.
