About the Position

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a Pediatric Emergency Department setting within a Level I Trauma, Teaching, Children's Hospital environment
• Perform pediatric triage, pediatric dosage calculations, phlebotomy, and IV insertion
• Interpret 12-lead EKGs and identify cardiac dysrhythmias
• Maintain patient ratios of 1:4, with the understanding that ratios may increase during high-census periods
• Float to Pediatric admission floors as needed to meet staffing needs
• Work assigned weekend shifts; weekend nights are considered Friday, Saturday, and Sunday

• Active RN license (pending license may be considered)
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, PALS, and ENPC - ENPC must be obtained prior to signing; RQI certifications are not accepted
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience; must include pediatric experience in an Adult/Pedi combined ED or a dedicated Pediatric ED
• COVID vaccination required; religious and medical exemptions accepted with appropriate documentation
• Must be available to work 2 out of 3 holiday bundles: Thanksgiving & the day after, Christmas Eve & Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve & New Year's Day
• Must live at least 100 miles from the facility to be eligible; a non-local driver's license is required on file

• Prior travel nursing experience, particularly in an emergency room setting
• Trauma and resuscitation experience
• Familiarity with Cerner charting system
