Cross Country Nurses is seeking a travel nurse RN PCU - Progressive Care Unit in Louisville, Kentucky. This position involves providing care within a high‑acuity, mixed acuity environment on a comprehensive stroke unit. Candidates must bring their nursing license on the first day of shift. Job Details Specialty: PCU - Progressive Care Unit Discipline: RN Start Date: 08/03/2026 Duration: 13 weeks Hours: 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, nights (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) Employment Type: Travel Location: Louisville, KY Qualifications Valid nursing license NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification Basic Life Support (BLS) certification Minimum 2 years of clinical experience in a similar setting (3 years preferred) Proficiency with EMR systems, infusion pumps, monitors, and unit‑specific devices Responsibilities Perform neurological assessments Phlebotomy and EKG rhythm analysis Manage NG/Dobhoff tubes, port access, and medication administration—including heparin infusions and Argatroban Administer high‑flow oxygen and BiPAP therapy Utilize advanced medical equipment such as EMR systems, infusion pumps, monitors, and unit‑specific devices Collaborate with CNA support, reception, charge nurse, phlebotomy staff, vascular access team, sepsis and rapid response teams, and provide 24/7 coverage with hospitalists, specialists, intensivists, and remote telemetry monitoring Support patient flow with 2–3 discharges per day and an average stay of 6–10 days Adhere to staffing ratios: RN 1:4–6; CNAs 2 per shift with clerical support Complete 24‑hour orientation and training, with specific shift scheduling at week one end and week two start Participate in weekend rotations every other weekend (no on‑call required) Wear Galaxy blue scrubs and use provided free onsite parking Benefits Private housing or generous housing allowance Comprehensive health insurance with prescription coverage Dependent health insurance with prescription coverage Competitive salaries Referral bonuses Travel reimbursement 401(k) retirement plan Direct deposit/free checking Unlimited free CE credits #J-18808-Ljbffr
