Project Estimator

Job Summary (Project Estimator Urbandale, IA):

- Review and analyze architectural drawings, specifications, and bid documents for construction projects.
- Prepare detailed material and quantity takeoffs for ceilings and related interior construction.
- Calculate costs for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractors.
- Request, review, and evaluate pricing from suppliers, vendors, and subcontractors.
- Develop and submit clear, accurate, and competitive bid proposals.
- Identify and address missing information, scope gaps, conflicts, and potential cost risks.
- Communicate with general contractors, suppliers, project managers, and field staff to clarify project requirements.
- Incorporate revisions from addenda into project estimates.
- Support value engineering and alternative solutions for cost reduction or improved constructability.
- Maintain organized records, pricing information, bid history, and documentation.
- Track submitted bids and assist with post-bid follow-up and negotiations.
- Support project handoff from estimating to project management and field teams.
- Occasionally visit project sites to verify conditions and understand requirements.
