Core responsibilities include ensuring compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards, supporting Joint Commission readiness, advancing clinical pharmacy services, overseeing sterile compounding practices, and driving antimicrobial stewardship initiatives.Pharmacy services operate primarily Monday through Friday with structured daytime hours, supporting a healthy work-life balance. After-hours coverage is supported through a collaborative model, and pharmacy staff share responsibility for on-call and holiday coverage to ensure continuity of care.This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a respected healthcare organization while enjoying all that the Knoxville area has to offer, including a thriving community, outdoor recreation, and a high quality of life.ResponsibilitiesManages the pharmacy budget and all aspects related to the financial program including profit and loss responsibility.Participates in hospital committee meetings necessary to enhance practice and patient care.Conducts one on one and team meetings with pharmacy staff to review performance and provide coaching as necessary.Purchases drugs and supplies in accordance with GPO bids and Cardinal Health best demonstrated practices.Maintains the pharmacy scheduling in addition to hiring, firing and performance management of pharmacy staff members.Develops, maintains, and updates a pharmacy Policy and Procedure manual for the department to ensure alignment with legal and regulatory guidelines.Performs pharmacy related tasks including filling and taking orders in compliance with departmental policies and procedures.Other duties as assigned.QualificationsBachelors degree in pharmacy or PharmD.Must be a "good standing" licensed Pharmacist in the state of Tennessee or able to obtain licensure.3+ years of pharmacy leadership experience within an inpatient environment.Inpatient/hospital experience required.Management experience required.340B experience required.Board Certification(s) preferred.Completion of an ASHP-accredited pharmacy residency and/or fellowship preferred.Ability to see, hear, write, and speak clearly in order to communicate with customers and health care professionals.Excellent planning, organizing and leadership skills.Strong customer orientation and negotiation skills.Ability to work on call or be in an on call rotation.May require vendor credentialing.What is expected of you and others at this levelManages department operations and supervises professional employees, front line supervisors and/or business support staff.Participates in the development of policies and procedures to achieve specific goals.Ensures employees operate within guidelines.Decisions have a short term impact on work processes, outcomes and customers.Interacts with subordinates, peers, customers, and suppliers at various management levels; may interact with senior management.Interactions normally involve resolution of issues related to operations and/or projects.Gains consensus from various parties involved.Anticipated salary range: $123,400 - 193,930.Bonus eligible: YesBenefits: Cardinal Health offers a wide variety of benefits and programs to support health and well-being.Medical, dental and vision coveragePaid time off planHealth savings account (HSA)401k savings planAccess to wages before pay day with myFlexPayFlexible spending accounts (FSAs)Short- and long-term disability coverageWork-Life resourcesPaid parental leaveHealthy lifestyle programsApplication window anticipated to close: 11/03/2026 *if interested in opportunity, please submit application as soon as possible.The salary range listed is an estimate.
