Maintenance Technician IIThe Maintenance Technician 1 ensures all equipment is running smoothly through regular planned maintenance and repair of all types of manufacturing equipment. Will be called on to fix urgent issues as part of a team with other technicians, machine operators, and supervisors or independently. The employee works in a developing capacity with increased responsibility for performing a range of maintenance duties.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs)Maintain a clean and safe work areaEnsure operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing maintenance requirements on production, packaging, processing equipment, and facilitiesImmediately report any food safety and food quality related issues to managementPerform preventative and predictive maintenance on facility machineryAssisting higher level technicians in troubleshooting and testing mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems using schematics and technical drawingsRepair equipment, fixtures, systems, conveyors, and other equipment at facility as requiredOperate production-related equipment as requiredWork independently and with other team members to complete repairs safely and in a timely mannerComplete required daily paperwork, document parts and material usageComplete work orders and preventative maintenance tasks on time, maintaining high quality standardsUse a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipmentCommunicate across shifts, departments, and management regarding any challenges and opportunities on the production linesPerform other duties as assignedQualifications & Requirements:Regular and predictable attendanceAbility to stand, walk, kneel and bend as required for the entire shiftAbility to lift 50 poundsWilling to work flexible hours including overtime, weekends, and holidaysMust provide own hand toolsBasic experience with Microsoft OfficeBasic knowledge of Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)Effective verbal and written communication skillsAbility to troubleshootExcellent attention to detailAbility to read blueprints and schematicsContinuous improvement mindsetKnowledge of sanitary pipes, fittings, and valvesKnowledge of packaging and tape machinesKnowledge of Fluid Power - pneumatic, hydraulic, pumps, valvesKnowledge of Power Transmission – gear, Sprockets, Chains, PulliesExperience with the following technologies: Variable frequency drive (VFD), sensors: photo eyes, level, pressure, flowBeverage processing equipment: brewing, extraction, admix, filling: rotary fillers, bag filling, Form fill sealManufacturing lines and changeovers: bottling, bags, pails, totesHVAC includes boilers, chillers and air compressorsHigh school diploma or GED2 years of experience in a food and beverage manufacturing maintenance environmentPhysical Demands:Ability to work beyond regularly scheduled hours during peak periods or critical operationsAbility to stand and walk for extended periods and regularly perform physical tasks such as pushing, pulling, lifting, climbing, bending, stooping, squatting, and using hands for detailed tasksPhysically capable of performing tasks such as lifting, climbing, and using hand and power tools, including pallet jacks, scales, ladders, and standard material handling and cleaning equipmentCapable of safely lifting up to 50 pounds frequently throughout the day; ability to handle heavier items with proper lifting equipment or team-assisted techniques to ensure safetyAbility to work in a dynamic manufacturing environment that may include exposure to odors, dust, moderate noise levels, and fluctuations in temperature and ventilationAppropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) must be worn at all timesAbility to work in elevated positions, at up to 50 feet and using proper safety precautionsMust be able to work in limited or cramped spaces and extend arms into machinery for inspection, cleaning, or maintenance tasks, while following all established safety protocolsQuality Statement:Our Quality and Food Safety Management strategy is anchored by our food safety and quality culture and a two-pronged approach to "be the best" as we produce "only the best".
