We care for a wide range of diagnoses including Rule Out MI, CHF, Post Heart Catheterization, Renal Failure, and Stroke. Staffed by registered nurses, patient care technicians, and a unit coordinator, the unit emphasizes evidence‑based practice, patient safety, and regulatory compliance. Unit consists of 36 beds with a nurse‑to‑patient ratio of approximately 4–5:1. Two patient care technicians are scheduled on both shifts, adjusted based on census. Unit leaders are available daily to support staff and patient care operations. We are a strategic extension of the emergency department where the goal is for observation patients to be diagnosed and treated in 30 hour or less. We partner with our physicians to ensure our patients receive excellent clinical care. Low staff turnover that allows for a wide range of experience levels and learning opportunities. We are very family centered, mission driven, and focused on team engagement. We work closely with all departments to ensure a seamless process and collaborative approach. Schedule: Full-time, Three (3) 12-hour shifts Shift: Days, 7:00 am - 7:00 pm (with weekend rotation) Primary Job Responsibilities: Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate the physiological, psychological, developmental, sociocultural, spiritual, and lifestyle factors of patients. Develop and implement individualized care plans based on patient needs and standards of care, regularly evaluating and revising these plans as necessary. Administer medications and treatments accurately and safely, following physician orders and hospital protocols, and monitor for adverse reactions. Educate patients and families about health conditions, treatments, medications, and self‑care strategies to promote understanding and compliance. Collaborate with medical staff and ancillary departments to coordinate and optimize patient care, ensuring effective communication and teamwork.
