Substation Group Leader

What You’ll Do Develop project plans, including project scope of work for complex multi‑discipline-based substation Engineering projects and EPC projects Manage substation project execution, including project scope, schedule, budget, and project resources, including external vendors, consultants, and contractors Responsible for the direct management and supervision of assigned direct reports Responsible for building, scaling and leading a high‑performing team of engineers Effectively track and stabilize projects, implement solutions to obstacles, and ensure client goals are achieved Attend client meetings and communicate concerns and changes with the client to ensure a positive relationship and growth opportunities Prepare and review preliminary designs Prepare proposals, including budgetary estimates Lead the development of plans, specifications, studies, estimates, material lists, and other deliverables Ensure team adherence to QA/QC program Control building layout/plan and section/elevation drawings Lead, mentor, and help grow a team of engineers and designers Manage day‑to‑day activities for your team Set goals and expectations for each team member Assist in annual performance reviews Develop new, or modify existing: Electrical layout/plan of substation equipment and structures Substation foundation layout/plan drawings Section/elevation views from layout/plan drawings Conduit layout/plan drawings Substation grounding layout/plan drawings What You’ll Bring Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering 10+ years of direct substation physical and electrical engineering experience Professional Engineering license in any state and the ability to acquire further licensure in other states A combination of education and a demonstrated related experience may be considered in lieu of education and experience requirements Solid comprehension and application of design software such as MicroStation and AutoCAD Proficient with Windows‑based software such as Word and Excel, which are frequently used to develop project deliverables Ability to learn and effectively utilize new design software programs Ability to work in a team environment with others including, but not limited to, Project Managers, Engineers, Designers, and drafters in multi‑discipline groups Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills Strong attention to detail and work product quality Salary Range $151,900‑195,300 Benefits Flexible Work Environment Paid Parental Leave Medical Dental Vision Life and AD&D Insurance Short‑Term and Long‑Term Disability 401(k) with Company Match Paid Time Off + Holidays Verdantas strives to develop new ways to increase diversity awareness within our organization.
