Truck Driver II

Job TitleTransports raw materials, work in process, and finished goods between various types of establishments such as: manufacturing plants, freight depots and warehouses. May also load and unload trucks with or without helpers. Must recognize and be able to make minor mechanical repairs needed to keep truck in good working order. Complete vehicle checks and pre/post inspections on every trip. Safety is #1 at BTD: Our expectation is that every employee: 1) Strictly follows safety policies, rules and safe work methods. 2) Promptly corrects or reports safety hazards or unsafe conditions. Promptly reports injuries for prompt diagnosis and treatment. 3) Makes regular suggestions for safety process improvements to support continuous improvement in safety.Essential Functions:Drives Company trucks and delivers products to customers internal and/or external.Completes vehicle circle checks and pre/post inspections on every trip.Responsible for proper maintenance and care of truck.Assist in scheduling maintenance of truck and trailer.Reports improper operation, faulty equipment, defective materials and unusual conditions to supervisor.Follows all established safety rules and regulations.Must represent the Company in a professional, honest, and forthright manner.Maintains a clean and safe work area.Uses software programs to enter time/payroll information, job information, etc.Ability to cover routes that are similar to current route.Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:Graduation from high school or equivalent. Experience and Skills Required: At least 2 year of recent Class A driving experience that includes the following skills and abilities: 1. Strong working knowledge of tractor-trailer operation, loading and minor maintenance. 2. Strong working knowledge of State and Federal motor carrier regulations. 3. Ability to operate, load and maintain Class A truck/trailer equipment in a safe, effective manner. 4. Must have a valid Class A Commercial Driver's License and Medical Card. 5. Ability to understand, follow and issue routine oral and written instructions. 6. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others. 7. Strong working knowledge of load securement of skidded coil loads. 8. At least 2 years accident free. 9. At least 2 years of no violations, MVR and roadside inspection. The range for this position is being displayed in compliance with all state and local regulations. Salaries are set based on a number of factors to include an individual's job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and education. This means that no two candidates are alike. Please keep in mind that the range mentioned above is the full base salary range for the role. Hiring at the maximum of the range would not be typical in order to allow for future & continued salary growth.
