Industrial Mechanical Technician - Mid

Job Title Industrial Mechanical Technician – Mid Location & Hours Location: Indianapolis, INHours: 6:30 am – 3:00 pm Monday thru Friday. Some on-call and weekends Compensation Up to $32.00/hr., depending on experience level determined during interview process. Benefits Weekly pay on Fridays. Responsibilities Work in a team oriented and safety conscious environment and follow “Safety First” expectations, including the PJHA process, observation process, and compliance with all company and site safety guidelines and procedures. Perform repairs and preventive maintenance on pumps, conveying systems, piping, heat exchangers, power transmissions, and other power‑driven rotating equipment. Complete tasks with direct supervision or independently, depending on assigned duties and employee development. Assist in formulating preventive maintenance standards and work procedures and provide work‑order feedback on any discrepancies noted in service delivery. Use hand and power tools, precision alignment, rigging, pipefitting, welding, blueprint reading, and mathematics as required. Operate and maintain simple and complex heavy industrial equipment such as forklifts, scissor lifts, basket trucks, and skid loaders. Work from elevated areas such as ladders, platforms, and scaffolding using fall protection equipment as necessary. Maintain a personal tool list and keep tools in good working order. Perform accurate and timely administrative duties including time accounting and work‑order completion. Maintain positive customer and employee relations. Qualifications 0–5 years of mechanical experience and/or 1–2 years of education in industrial maintenance technologies. Willingness to meet physical requirements and work flexible shifts including holidays and weekends. Physical Demands Observe details at close range (within a few feet). Precise control adjustments of machine or vehicle components. Manual dexterity to quickly grasp, manipulate, or assemble objects. Substantial lifting up to 50 pounds. Movement for extended or continuous periods. Ascend and descend stairs, ladders, and step stools. Operate hand tools, power tools, and forklifts safely. Wear respirators during certain job duties. Communicate information and ideas effectively. Work Environment Frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; risk of electrical shock and vibration; occasional extreme heat or cold; wet/humid conditions; loud noise levels. The compensation offered will be based on factors such as collective bargaining agreement coverage, geographic area, market pay rates, and candidate experience.
