Embedded Software Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design, scope, implement, integrate, and test dataplane features and performance optimizations running on the EC2 Nitro System.
• Develop performance and availability improvements for machine learning workloads across HPC and accelerated EC2 platforms.
• Improve development processes, tools, automation, and engineering quality standards.
• Influence coding and design practices and advocate for technical solutions that shape the team roadmap.
• Mentor junior engineers on scoping, design, and development of scalable, maintainable code.
• Collaborate with senior engineers, product managers, TPMs, and cross-functional teams on requirements, architectures, and implementation.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• At least 2 years of non-internship experience designing or architecting new and existing systems, including design patterns, reliability, and scaling.
• Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or a related field.
• Experience programming in at least one software programming language.
• Preferred: embedded development experience in C or C++.
• Preferred: experience writing low-level drivers.
• Preferred: knowledge of system performance, memory management, and parallel computing principles.

• Base salary is listed as $143,700.00-$194,400.00 USD annually, with additional sign-on payments and restricted stock units.
