Job Title: Machine Operator

Job Description

The machine operator operates and monitors a production bottling line to ensure products are accurately filled, labeled, packaged, and prepared for storage or shipment. This role requires careful attention to detail, adherence to standard operating procedures, and the ability to maintain consistent product flow while identifying and addressing defects or issues on the line.

Responsibilities

• Accurately read, interpret, and execute job instructions for each production run.
• Operate the bottling line safely and efficiently to maintain consistent product flow.
• Load materials onto the production line and monitor operations to ensure an even flow of product.
• Take responsibility for general production tasks and ensure the bottling line runs smoothly throughout the shift.
• Remove and separate defective materials or products, and document and report defects according to procedures.
• Label, package, and palletize finished products for storage or shipment as required.
• Complete all required documentation accurately using both paper forms and computer entry systems.
• Monitor material levels on the line and resupply the production line as needed to avoid work stoppages.
• Initiate restock notifications in a timely manner when material levels are low.
• Follow all standard operating procedures (SOPs) and production guidelines at all times.
• Perform additional duties as assigned to support production needs.
• Work extended hours when necessary to meet production demands.

Essential Skills

• At least 2 years of experience in production, manufacturing, or machine operation.
• Experience working on a production line, such as bottling, packaging, or general production.
• Ability to operate and monitor bottling lines or similar production machinery.
• Capability to read, interpret, and follow detailed job instructions and SOPs.
• Experience with labeling, packaging, and palletizing finished products.
• Comfort using basic computer systems for data entry and production documentation.
• Strong attention to detail to identify and separate defective materials or products.
• Ability to work safely and efficiently in a fast-paced production environment.
• Willingness to work extended hours when necessary to support production schedules.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Previous bottling line experience is highly preferred.
• Experience in general production, picker/packer, or packaging roles.
• Experience as a machine operator in a manufacturing environment.
• Familiarity with test kits, chemicals, or similar products is a plus.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a production team.
• Strong organizational skills to manage materials and workflow on the line.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Hunt Valley, MD 21031.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.50 - $20.00/hr.
