DevOps Engineer
Genesis10 is currently seeking a DevOps Engineer for a contract position with a Global Financial Institution located in Pennington, NJ. This is a 12+ month contract position.
We are looking for a highly skilled DevOps Engineer to join our infrastructure team. You will be responsible for designing, deploying, and maintaining scalable cloud environments and automating our infrastructure lifecycle. The ideal candidate has deep expertise in cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP) and is a master of Terraform for Infrastructure as Code (IaC). You will be the bridge between development and operations, ensuring that our systems are highly available, secure, and performant.
Responsibilities:
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Design, build, and maintain complex infrastructure using Terraform, ensuring modularity, scalability, and security
- Cloud Orchestration: Manage cloud resources across multi-environment setups (Dev, Staging, Production) with a focus on cost-optimization and high availability
- CI/CD Pipeline Engineering: Build and optimize automated CI/CD pipelines to facilitate rapid, reliable code deployments
- Monitoring & Observability: Implement proactive monitoring and logging solutions to identify and resolve performance bottlenecks before they impact the user
- Distributed Systems: Apply best practices for distributed architecture, including load balancing, proxy configurations, and caching strategies to ensure system reliability
- Performance Diagnostics: Lead the troubleshooting efforts for system-wide performance issues, identifying root causes in cloud infrastructure or application configuration
Requirements:
- Cloud Proficiency: Hands-on experience with cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- Terraform Expertise: Strong proficiency in writing, managing, and versioning Terraform modules and state files
- Automation: Demonstrated experience in building automated deployment workflows (Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, or similar)
- Problem-Solving: Proven track record of diagnosing and resolving system performance issues in distributed environments
- Systems Thinking: Deep understanding of load balancers, proxies (Nginx/HAProxy), and caching strategies (Redis/Memcached)
- Scripting: Proficiency in Python or Bash for infrastructure automation and scripting
Pay range: $58.31 - $66.31 per hour
