Location & Schedule Location: Geisinger Wyoming Valley (GWV) Shift: Days (United States of America) Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40 Worker Type: Regular Exemption Status: Yes Responsibilities Support the vision to make better health easier for everyone and work within a collaborative environment designed to set you up for success. Provide support and guidance to the IR nursing team in partnership with the IR Team Leader at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Hospital, including overseeing training and mentoring when required. Maintain an 80% administrative / 20% clinical capacity, ensuring day‑to‑day operational activities, human resources management, patient safety and performance improvement are executed in compliance with all regulatory requirements. Administer administrative leadership assistance to the Operations Manager/Director and assist with the financial performance of assigned areas, reviewing manpower needs and making staffing requests. Manage nursing support staff, work with department RN Team Leaders or Leads to provide direction and follow‑up, and maintain appropriate staffing levels and mix. Lead and monitor annual staff patient safety education and monitor all incidents, serious and sentinel events, ensuring all events are reported. Participate on teams designed to improve care for identified patient populations upon request, and support safety, operational efficiency and effectiveness of equipment. Provide input into decisions to purchase equipment and long‑range planning for technology. Assure that the patient safety improvement and management program is given high priority and supports overall program goals. Provide patient‑oriented leadership by investigating concerns and ensuring they are fully addressed. Maintain cost‑effective operations and support staff recruitment, acquisition and retention activities for non‑physician staff. Qualifications & Experience Graduate from Specialty Training Program‑Nursing (required). Minimum of 2 years of RN work experience. Previous IR nursing experience and supervision of a team in a clinical setting is preferred. Certified with Basic Life Support Certification – Default Issuing Body. Licensed Registered Nurse (Pennsylvania) – RN_State of Pennsylvania. Experience with training and mentoring teams, conflict resolution, and the ability to guide others toward meeting operational goals. Experience in a formal supervisory role and oversight of a team. Strong communication and interpersonal communication skills. Previous administrative experience including human resources, patient safety, performance improvement, and regulatory compliance is advantageous.
