Compensation Hourly rate: $13.00 to $17.00 per hour. Employees also earn commission on every transaction processed, with the potential to earn up to 8% on sales, translating to an additional average of $1.06 per hour on top of the base rate. Position Summary The Full‑Time Pawnbroker / Retail Sales Associate partners with all staff to provide customer service on both the lending and retail sides of the business. The role involves greeting, engaging, and assisting customers with sales, loans, and general merchandise such as jewelry, tools, electronics, and firearms (in FFL locations). This entry‑level position offers hourly wages plus commissions based on productivity and results can vary by location, qualifications, and experience. Responsibilities Greet and interact with customers to develop rapport and recommend appropriate solutions. Execute opening and closing procedures. Maintain a clean, stocked, and displayed sales floor. Process sales and loan transactions in accordance with policies and regulatory requirements. Handle cash and negotiable items following established procedures. Answer incoming calls per company standards. Communicate legal aspects of pawn, buy, and loan transactions to customers. Collaborate with coworkers and managers to create a positive customer experience. Successfully complete assigned training. Perform other related duties as assigned. Minimum Requirements & Qualifications Willingness and ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Physical ability to perform tasks for extended periods, including standing, stooping, walking, climbing, pushing, pulling, and lifting. Capacity to work with firearms and obtain firearms certification if required. Potential to assist customers outside the building or retrieve items from storage areas. Minimum age 18 years. High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience. Strong desire to work, serve customers, work with people, and contribute to a team. Ability to multitask in a fast‑paced environment. Proficiency in basic math calculations. Cash handling experience preferred. Flexibility to work in multiple locations and on a flexible retail schedule, including weekends and holidays. Computer literacy and ability to operate POS systems and common office equipment. Commission Plan Information The commission incentive plan is proprietary. Pawnbrokers can earn 2–8% commission based on gross profit and personal performance. Detailed plan information is provided during the interview process.
