Job Title: Packer Job Description

The Packer plays a key role in supporting production operations by carefully packing, labeling, and preparing products for shipment while ensuring they meet customer requirements and quality standards. This position works closely with machine operators and team members, follows detailed work orders, and maintains a clean, safe work area in a modern manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with machine operators and team members to ensure all products meet customer requirements and quality standards.

• Follow directions on work orders with accuracy and strong attention to detail.

• Inspect finished output to confirm it meets specifications and established quality standards.

• Identify non-conforming goods and promptly notify the appropriate department leader.

• Perform visual inspections and verify measurements to support consistent production flow.

• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area at all times in accordance with safety protocols.

• Complete additional tasks and duties as assigned to support production and shipping needs.

• Lift items weighing 50 pounds or more as part of daily work activities.

• Stand for long periods while performing packing, labeling, and production-related tasks.

• Walk, sit, bend, and talk on the phone as needed to support communication and workflow.

• Sit at a desk for extended periods when required for documentation or order review.

• Assist with packing, labeling, packaging, and shipping tasks to ensure orders are prepared accurately and on time.

Essential Skills

• At least 1 year of factory or manufacturing experience preferred.

• Ability to read and interpret work orders accurately.

• Strong command of English, both written and spoken, to understand instructions and communicate effectively.

• Basic math skills and the ability to use simple measuring tools for verifying product specifications.

• Ability to lift 50+ pounds safely and repeatedly.

• Ability to stand for long periods and perform physical tasks such as walking, sitting, bending, and handling materials.

• High school diploma or GED required.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in packing, production, labeling, packaging, or shipping in a manufacturing or warehouse environment.

• Attention to detail and a strong focus on quality when inspecting products and completing work orders.

• Willingness to perform a variety of tasks and adapt to changing production needs.

• Commitment to following safety procedures and maintaining a clean, orderly work area.

Work Environment

This role is based in a modern manufacturing facility designed around safety, efficiency, and teamwork. The position works on 1st shift from 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Team members perform hands-on tasks around machinery, materials, and equipment and must follow all safety protocols at all times. The environment promotes a Safe to the Core culture, where employees can carry out physical tasks such as lifting, standing, and moving materials confidently and safely while contributing to a well-organized production and shipping operation.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of North Brunswick, NJ.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
