Qualifications:
Education/Certification: Master's degree in educational administration
Texas mid-management or other appropriate Texas certificate
Certified T- TESS appraiser Special Knowledge/Skills: Knowledge of curriculum and instruction
Ability to evaluate instructional programs and teaching effectiveness
Strong communication, human relations, and interpersonal skills Thorough understanding of school administrative operations Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills Experience: Three to five years teaching or equivalent (i.e: Instructional coach, Department chair or team leader assignment) Major Responsibilities and Duties: Instructional Management
Supervisory Responsibilities: Assist in Supervising and evaluating the performance of teacher(s), counselor(s), librarian(s), and support staff. - Participates in the development and evaluation of educational programs.
- Encourages and supports the development of innovative instructional programs, helping teachers to pilot such efforts when appropriate.
- Facilitates the use of technology in the teaching/learning process.

- Conduct instructional observations and conferences with staff that result in diagnostic and prescriptive feedback for growth and improved performance.
- Facilitate staff development including inservice activities, workshops, and support materials.

- Cooperates in the conducting of safety inspections and safety drill practice activities.
- Coordinates transportation, custodial, cafeteria, and other support services.
- Attends all regular special meetings of the Board of Education and executive or study sessions when requested by the Superintendent.
- Implements the policies established by federal and state law, State Board of Education rule, and local board policy.
- Coordinates and provides adequate supervision of students during non-instructional periods.
- Provides input to develop a student management system that results in positive student behavior.
- Ensures that school rules are uniformly observed and that student discipline is appropriate and equitable.
- Conducts conferences with parents, students, and teachers concerning school and student issues.
- Coordinates and provides adequate supervision of student health services.
- Ensures that student discipline management, student attendance/truancy, and in-school-suspension/AEP programs are appropriate and equitable for all students.
- Conducts ARD meetings.
