Certified Athletic Trainer

Job Summary The Certified Athletic Trainer is responsible for the prevention, assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation of injuries and medical conditions related to athletic participation. The role collaborates closely with medical professionals, coaches, and community partners to support safe participation, optimize performance, and facilitate timely return to activity. Location Orthopedics - TBJ Admin - Warren Clinic, Tulsa, Oklahoma 74146 Minimum Education Bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training, Biology, Exercise Science, or Kinesiology. Master’s degree (preferred). Licensure, Registration and/or Certification National Athletic Trainers Association Board of Certification Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC). Work Experience Minimum 1 year related experience. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge of principles and practices of athletic training, sports medicine, and injury prevention. Knowledge of rehabilitation techniques and therapeutic exercise programs. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to observe and accurately interpret athlete health, performance, and injury conditions. Professional and courteous demeanor, flexibility, and adaptability in a dynamic work environment. Positive interaction with faculty and students. Essential Functions and Responsibilities Assess and diagnose sports-related injuries and conditions. Develop and implement individualized injury prevention and rehabilitation programs. Provide immediate care for acute injuries, including first aid, cardiopulmonary resuscitation, and emergency response. Monitor athlete’s progress and adapt treatment plans as needed. Educate athletes, coaches, and staff on injury prevention, safe training techniques, and wellness strategies. Maintain accurate medical and treatment records in compliance with privacy regulations. Collaborate with physicians, physical therapists, and other healthcare professionals for coordinated care. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and best practices during training and competition. Participate in continuing education to stay current with sports medicine trends and techniques. Decision Making Carrying out non-routine procedures under constantly changing conditions, in conformance with general instructions from a supervisor. Working Relationships Coordinates activities of others (does not supervise). Works directly with patients and/or customers. Interacts with internal and external customers via telephone or face-to-face. Collaborates with other healthcare professionals and staff. Works frequently with individuals at Director level or above.
