Automatic Lathe Machinist — Precision Turning

Picture your evening starting at 2:30 PM: you step onto the floor, review the production plan, and bring automatic lathes online. You’ll load raw bar or blanks, dial in offsets under guidance, and verify first-piece dimensions with micrometers and calipers. Through the shift, you’ll rotate across multiple machines (after training), watching cycle times, listening for changes, and making small adjustments to keep quality and throughput on target.

When parts come off the machine, you’ll perform dimensional checks, record results, and separate any nonconforming pieces. You’ll keep your cell organized, handle material safely, and follow documented procedures so every component meets spec. By 11:00 PM, you’ve met production goals, left a clean, safe work area, and documented status for the next team.

• Operate automatic lathe equipment to produce precision components
• Inspect parts using calipers, micrometers, and related gaging
• Monitor machine condition, identify issues, and escalate as needed
• Load materials, unload finished parts, and maintain workflow
• Run multiple machines after training while meeting production targets
• Follow safety, quality, and manufacturing procedures consistently
• Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard‑free workspace

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Prior machining background preferred (manual or automatic turning)
• Proficiency using calipers, micrometers, and measuring tools
• Mechanical aptitude, strong attention to detail, and ability to follow prints/specs
• Physical ability to lift up to 25 lbs frequently and 50 lbs occasionally
• Comfort standing, sitting, reaching, bending, and using hands throughout the shift
• Commitment to safety practices and quality standards

• Full-time
• Monday–Friday
• 2nd Shift: 2:30 PM – 11:00 PM
• $19.15 per hour
