Position OverviewLocation: Rockville, MD (Hybrid - mix of remote and in-office)Position Type: Full-time, PermanentSalary Range: $65,000 - $71,000 (Commensurate with experience)Firm Profile: Leading 100-person CPA firm offering an excellent training ground, modern cloud technology tools, and a collaborative team environment.Role SummaryWe are looking for an ambitious and detail-oriented CAS Staff Associate to join our expanding team. This is an entry-to-early-career role designed for an individual with foundational accounting knowledge who wants to accelerate their growth in public accounting. Working under the guidance of a Senior Associate or Manager, you will handle the day-to-day transactional accounting and bookkeeping tasks for a variety of clients, ensuring their financial data is accurate, up-to-date, and organized.Key ResponsibilitiesTransactional Accounting & ProcessingExecute daily transactional tasks including Accounts Payable (AP) processing, bill coding, and routing for approvals.Manage Accounts Receivable (AR) activities, including preparing client invoices, tracking payments, and recording deposits.Assist in the collection and processing of data for payroll runs, including tracking hours and verifying payroll updates.Account Reconciliations & Close SupportPerform routine bank, credit card, and merchant account reconciliations.Post regular journal entries and maintain orderly digital client accounting records.Support Senior Associates with the month-end close process by gathering documentation and preparing preliminary schedules.Client Communication & Tech Stack MaintenanceGather missing receipts, invoices, or documentation from clients professionally and promptly.Utilize and update client accounting data within various modern cloud applications.Qualifications & ExperienceExperience: 6+ months of experience in a bookkeeping, corporate accounting, or public accounting environment (relevant internships will be considered).Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).Technical Skills: Familiarity or exposure to accounting software such as QuickBooks Online (QBO) or Sage Intacct is preferred.
