Medical Assistant (MA)

Location: Huntington, IN 46750
Duration: 9 Weeks
Schedule:

• Monday: 6:30 AM – 4:00 PM
• Tuesday: 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM
• Wednesday: 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM
• Friday: 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM

Job Responsibilities

The Medical Assistant (MA) will provide support across both the front and back office. Responsibilities include:

• Greeting and rooming patients
• Scheduling patient appointments
• Answering phones and assisting with patient inquiries
• Taking and documenting patient vital signs
• Performing blood draws and venipuncture
• Administering vaccines
• Performing EKGs and point-of-care (POC) testing
• Providing additional clinical and administrative support as needed
• Maintaining effective and collaborative relationships with clinical and administrative staff
• Supporting health education and outreach initiatives
• Ensuring accurate and timely documentation in the EMR

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of Medical Assistant experience , in addition to externship experience
• 2–3 years of experience preferred
• Medical Assistant certification strongly preferred
• Phlebotomy/Venipuncture experience required
• Electronic Medical Record (EMR) experience required
• Strong attention to detail
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong computer skills
• Ability to work effectively in both front-office and back-office settings
• Comfortable working in an environment focused on patient care, health education, and community outreach
