Dental Assistant
US Department of War
Duties
Assist the oral surgeon in the hospital operating room in a variety of complex oral maxillofacial procedures.
Take preliminary dental impressions.
Monitor patient under general anesthesia or sedation throughout surgery.
Operate dental X-ray equipment to take intra and extra-oral radiographs.
Chart examination and treatment information as relayed by dentist to patient records.
Prepare dental clinic and hospital operating room for any of several different types of surgical procedures.
