Interventional Radiology Technologist/FT (Florence, SC)

Job Description The Interventional Radiology Technologist reports directly to the Vascular and Interventional Radiology RT Supervisor. The IR Technologist works alongside the Interventional Radiologist and RN to assist in the performance of diagnostic angiographic procedures as well as complex vascular and nonvascular interventional and therapeutic procedures. The IR Technologist is responsible for obtaining all equipment needed for a procedure, positioning and imaging patients, resolving equipment issues, and demonstrating knowledge of human anatomy, radiation safety, interventional supplies, and equipment operation including fluoroscopy, US, and ancillary therapeutic devices. The IR technologist must prepare, administer, and document contrast given throughout the procedure, corroborate a patient’s clinical history with procedure, and ensure information is documented and available for use by the clinician. Using patient care skills, the technologist provides good communication, patient assessment, and patient monitoring. Responsibilities also include post‑processing digital data for display or hard copy records, ensuring technical quality and proper identification, as well as periodic weekend and off‑hour call. Education Graduation from an accredited school of radiologic technology. Experience At least 1 year of X‑Ray experience. Required Registration / Certification Must be registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) (R), required.
