What You'll Do

YOU determine how much you earn as a Warehouse Selector. The more orders you complete safely and efficiently, the more money you earn each week! The average Publix Selector performs at a rate greater than 100% which means that you, too, can earn above standard pay. Are you the competitive type? It pays to be the best because Selectors are rewarded for working efficiently and with accurate results. What if your work was also your workout? Selectors are constantly walking, lifting, bending and stretching. If you're into sports, cardio, strength training, weightlifting, running or bodybuilding, this job will help keep you in shape. Selectors pull products ordered by Publix stores, place them onto pallets, wrap the finished order, and get it ready to be placed on a truck for delivery. To increase their efficiency, Selectors use state-of-the-art technology to notify them of the products that have been ordered and where they are in the warehouse. Our Warehouse Selectors are team players and instrumental in helping keep our shelves stocked in our more than 1,200 store locations. What You Need To Succeed

• Be at least 18 years old
• Be able to:
  • Work a rotating schedule which includes some weekends and holidays
  • Work fluctuating shifts, when needed
  • Select, lift, carry and stack product weighing:
    • 67 pounds for High Velocity and Low Velocity
    • 67 pounds for Frozen Foods and Produce
    • 85 pounds for Boxed Meat/Dairy
  • Stand, bend, and stoop and do repetitive work for long periods of time
  • Operate a pallet truck or forklift without any part of the body exposed outside of the operator compartment
  • Obtain certification in pallet truck and forklift operations (on or before their start date in the position)
  • Perform job duties efficiently, accurately, and safely
  • Read, write, and identify and verify numbers
  • Interpret, understand, and follow instructions
  • Pass a Physical Agility Test, as applicable

Department - Work environment

Boxed Meat/Dairy Warehouse - Temperatures could range from 35° to 28° Fahrenheit for an extended period of time.

Frozen Food Warehouse - Temperatures could range from zero to 20° below Fahrenheit for an extended period of time.

High Velocity Warehouse - Temperatures could exceed 90° Fahrenheit for an extended period of time.

Low Velocity Warehouse - Temperatures could exceed 90+° Fahrenheit for an extended period of time.

Produce Warehouse - Temperatures could range from 55° to 35° Fahrenheit for an extended period of time; also involves working in a wet environment.

Year End Bonus

Other Compensation Information

• In-training pay is $19.28 per hour and the length of training varies from 14 to 120 days, depending on individual productivity, safety, and quality of work. After training, compensation varies by output and the standard base pay rate is $24.10 per hour. Top performers can exceed $30 per hour.
• Night differential: A $.75 per hour night differential is available.
• Freezer differential: A $.50 per hour freezer differential is available.
• Weekend differential: A $2.00 per hour weekend differential is paid to associates for hours worked between 12:00 a.m. Saturday through 11:59 p.m. Sunday.
