Job Description Construction Superintendent – Airport Terminal Construction Project We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Construction Superintendent to oversee the civil work for our airport terminal construction project. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to a high-profile project that will enhance airport operations. The Construction Superintendent will be responsible for managing and supervising all aspects of the civil construction activities for the airport terminal project. This includes ensuring safety, quality, and timely delivery while adhering to project specifications and budget. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in managing large-scale airport or infrastructure projects, with expertise in civil engineering and construction management. Key Responsibilities Oversee daily construction operations for the airport terminal project, including site preparation, grading, drainage, utility installations, and pavement work. Coordinate and manage subcontractors, vendors, and project teams to ensure efficient workflow and adherence to project timelines. Ensure compliance with safety regulations, environmental standards, and airport operational requirements. Integrate quality control team. Maintain project schedules, monitor progress, and implement recovery plans as needed. Collaborate with stakeholders, including airport authorities, contractors, and project managers, to ensure seamless execution of the project. Manage documentation, including RFIs, submittals, change orders, and progress reports. Engage in site meetings with contractors, clients, and stakeholders to address project updates and resolve issues. Ensure the project adheres to budget constraints and provide accurate cost tracking and forecasting. Qualifications Minimum Requirement BS Engineering or Construction Management or similar curriculum and 6 years of relevant construction experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education. Valid US drivers license. Preferred Qualifications Aviation construction experience. Relevant experience in civil infrastructure projects. OSHA 30-Hour Strong leadership and team management abilities. Excellent communication and negotiation skills. Proficiency in construction scheduling software and project management tools. In-depth knowledge of airport operations and civil engineering practices. Experience with construction documentation such as RFI, change order management, etc. Physical Demands The following physical demands represent those typically required of individuals working in construction field roles, with or without accommodation. Construction field positions require physical stamina and mobility, including the ability to climb ladders and stairs, use personnel hoists, and move through various terrain and active construction zones. Vision requirements include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Team members must be capable of using their hands to handle tools and materials, and perform activities such as sitting, standing, walking, speaking, hearing, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling. Lifting and carrying materials weighing up to 50 pounds unassisted may be necessary on an occasional basis. Work Environment Individuals in construction field roles work primarily on active job sites where exposure to environmental and job-related hazards is common, with or without accommodation. These environments may include proximity to heavy machinery, elevated work areas, airborne particles, varying weather conditions, and potential electrical risks. Noise levels may vary from moderate to high depending on the phase of construction. Employees may be required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) and must remain alert to ensure safety. Additional duties may be assigned as needed based on the scope and progress of the project. Additional Information This position does not include sponsorship for United States work authorization now or in the future. Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test. This position is not hybrid nor remote. For positions with driving responsibilities, Motor Vehicle Records are reviewed as part of AECOM’s background check process to ensure compliance with the Company’s driving standards. In order to receive a security badge at the client worksite for which you are being hired to perform services, you will be required to pass the client's security screening process to include SWAC (Secure Worker Access Consortium) and/or SIDA (Identification Display Area) and fingerprinting, which will be done after you have commenced employment and is a condition of your continued employment. To support this commitment, all newly hired employees are required to attend an in-person Day 1 onboarding at an AECOM office location as a condition of employment. Offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The range for this position is $101500 to $187500.
