- Pay Rate: $37.00–$40.00 / Hour (USD)
- Shift / Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
- Overtime: Overtime expected
- Conversion Potential: Yes — potential to convert to full-time employee (FTE)

Job Summary
As a Technical Engineer, you will be responsible for engineering operations and the direction of technicians, vendors, and subcontractors. This job is part of the Engineering and Technical Services job function, responsible for providing support, preventive maintenance, and repairs on equipment and systems. The role is based at a pharmaceutical manufacturing facility and reports directly to the Site Manager. The team consists of Maintenance Mechanics, HVAC Technicians, Plumbers, and Electricians.
Key Responsibilities
- Comply with all applicable codes, regulations, governmental agency, and Company directives related to building operations and work safety.
- Oversee operations, assign work orders, and provide technical and procedural training of coworkers and subcontractors.
- Consult with clients to schedule preventive maintenance and other downtime to minimize business interruption and inconvenience.
- Formulate and implement a preventive maintenance program to ensure that building machinery and systems meet or exceed their rated life.
- Oversee and inspect the work performed by engineering staff.
- Confirm that work is complete, equipment is fully functional and client space is in prime working condition.
- Respond quickly to emergency situations, summoning additional assistance as needed.
- Perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and provide technical guidance to technicians.
- Develop PM programs, create and develop Job Plans.
- Validate commissioning information for new equipment and perform asset lifecycle evaluation.
- Apply in-depth knowledge of standard principles and techniques/procedures to accomplish complex assignments and provide innovative solutions.
- Coach others and share in-depth knowledge of own job discipline and broad knowledge of several job disciplines within the function.
- Lead by example and model behaviors that are consistent with CBRE RISE values; work to build consensus and convince others to reach an agreement.
- Impact a range of customer, operational, project or service activities within own team and other related teams.
- Work within broad guidelines and policies.
- Explain difficult or sensitive information.
Required Skills
- Facility experience with HVAC, water systems, and air systems
- Ability to use a CMMS system and Email
- Ability to exercise judgment based on the analysis of multiple sources of information.
- Willingness to take a new perspective on existing solutions.
- In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Organizational skills with an advanced inquisitive mindset.
- Customer service skills; ability to communicate technical issues to non-technical persons.
Preferred Skills
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
- Prior shift manager or supervisory experience
Education Requirements
- High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma with 4–5 years of job-related experience; in lieu of a diploma, a combination of experience and education will be considered.
- Engineering degree preferred.
- Certifications/licenses as may be required by local or state jurisdictions.
- OSHA 10 Construction (preferred but not necessary)
Required Experience
- 5 years of relevant job-related experience in a facility engineering or maintenance technician role.
Work Environment / Physical Requirements
- Pharmaceutical manufacturing facility and office environment.
- Meet the physical requirements of this role including stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and the ability to lift/carry heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more.
- Background package: CBRE Safety Specific — with drug screen (Eli Lilly site requirement).
