Purchasing SpecialistResponsible for Supply Chain Management, Purchasing Materials, Price Negotiation and Contracts.Job Functions:Quotes and procures procuring materials, components, equipment and services at the lowest cost consistent with consideration of quality, reliability of source and urgency of needExpedites and ensures the timely receipt of materialsWorks with engineering and SQE to recommend new suppliersIssues RFQs, analyzes proposals, negotiates prices, delivery, and adjusts purchase orders in a timely mannerFollows-up on orders, negotiate vendor contracts, verify deliveries, approve payments, and maintain necessary inventory levelsLeads purchasing activities with manufacturing departments to maintain inventory at planned levelsReviews MRP on a regular basis and be responsible for executing and cancelling pull ins, push outs and planned orders as prioritizedOther duties as assigned.Nothing in the Position Description restricts management's right to assign or re-assign duties and responsibilities to this job at any timeQualificationsLanguages spoken commonly in the workplace are English and Mandarin. Ability to read, understand and comprehend documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.Ability to speak effectively and interact with other team members, engineers, leadership and customers2 years of experience in procurement or over 2 years of logistics or over 2 years of project managementUndergraduate and above (science major preferred)The employee is regularly required to stand or sit for long periods. Duties will include long periods of viewing a computer monitorAbility to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimalsAbility to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variablesKnowledge of and familiarity manufacturing softwareBachelor's Degree with at least five years' experience in a purchasing roleMust have strong analytical capabilities and initiative to take action as appropriate and necessaryShould have an independent & organized work style with the ability to effectively manage time, prioritize work responsibilities, assume and manage multiple tasks without close supervision while ensuring that deadlines are metMust have a proactive approach to identify and resolve manufacturing related issuesShould have demonstrated strength working in a team oriented environmentMust be proficient with Microsoft Office applications, ERP Systems (Plex), Logistics databases, MRP, and other reporting tools
