Powered by Care.Classification: Non-ExemptEssential Functions:Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.Roles and Responsibilities:Utilizes and maintains various company issued locate tools and equipment for proper use, storage, and upkeepUtilizes maps / blueprints to interpret facilities to determine the presence of underground utilitiesCompletes all work in an organized, timely manner, within standard operating procedureRemoves and replaces manhole lidsUses laptop computer or other electronic devices to receive and document status of excavation noticesCommunicates effectively with supervision, operational support, and clientsPerforms project quality controlPerforms all duties assigned in a SAFE manner on private and public work areasSuccess Factors:Ability to perform heavy manual labor for extended periods, often under adverse climatic conditions.Ability to lift up to 80 lbs multiple times during a work shiftAbility to climb, dig, work in tight spaces, on uneven surfaces, walking, stooping, and kneelingAbility to understand and follow specific oral and written instructionsAbility to work well independently and as a part of a team with co-workersAbility to pass motor vehicle, criminal background check, and comply with drug-free workplace policyEnglish usage sufficient to keep records, place orders, and prepare simple narrative reportsWillingness and ability to learn additional skillsExperience and Education:Experience locating underground utilities a plus but not requiredAn equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted on a year to year basisPossession of a valid State Driver's License is requiredAdditional Requirements/Licenses/Certifications:Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid State of Residence Driver's License is required within two weeks of employment.Candidates must pass criminal and Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) background checks and pass a pre-employment drug screen.Notes:The statements herein are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by employees and are not to be construed as an exhaustive list of responsibilities, duties, and skills required of personnel so classified.
