We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Optical staff member to join our customer service forward optometry practice in Midlothian, Virginia! The Optical staff play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care, ensuring accurate prescriptions, and providing a positive patient experience. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team!
Responsibilities:
- Frame selection to assist patients choosing glasses
- Fit and adjust patients' glasses for proper fit
- Perform lensometry and other tests to determine the correct prescription and accuracy of jobs from labs
- Ability to run an edger is a plus
- Problem solve with patients that may have challenges adapting to their new glasses
- Stay up-to-date on the latest trends and technologies in the field
- Work closely with optometrist to ensure patient care is comprehensive
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment
- Comply with HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality
- Utilize medical terminology and anatomy knowledge to communicate effectively with patients
- Collaborate with the clinic team to ensure a seamless patient experience
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of optical principles and practices
- Familiarity with retail sales and the ability to provide excellent customer service
- Proficiency in using electronic health record systems
- Compliant with HIPAA regulations
- Knowledge of optometry practices
- Ability to lift and carry equipment or supplies
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Certification or licensure as an Optician is a plus
- Must be able to pass a background check and adhere to all clinic policies and procedures.
