Integrated Talent Strategies (ITS) is seeking a Procurement Specialist to work in the Columbus, OH area. This position offers a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, 401(k), and paid time off.
Position Overview The Procurement Specialist works autonomously to lead major, high-dollar, and complex sourcing or contract development initiatives. This role serves as a subject matter expert for assigned categories involving large or complex spend, custom requirements, or emerging business needs. The individual acts as a consultant to Category Managers, business units, and Procurement professionals, supporting sourcing strategies and contract development. This role is responsible for writing and structuring business deals and collaborating closely with Legal, Risk, Safety, and other internal stakeholders to protect company interests. The Procurement Specialist may also direct the work activities of Procurement Professionals or Procurement Analysts and regularly engages with business unit leadership and Supply Chain Procurement and Fleet Operations (SCPFO) leadership to achieve procurement goals. Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities- Lead and develop complex, non-standard contracts, including pricing structures, performance criteria, service levels, warranties, terms and conditions, and risk mitigation provisions
- Draft and revise modifications to existing complex contracts, coordinating with Legal as needed
- Provide advisory and negotiation support to Category Managers and Procurement professionals
- Apply pricing models, cost containment strategies, pricing caps, total cost-of-ownership models, and indices during contract development
- Support Category Managers in refining sourcing strategies for complex or high-value spend
- Partner with the Service Center to ensure transactional and customer support services align with category strategies
- Collaborate with the Supply Chain Center of Excellence (COE), Service Center, and business partners on initiatives to resolve recurring issues, improve efficiency, and enhance satisfaction
- Deep understanding of contract design and structure, including terms, templates, performance criteria, and legal language
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and time management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage stakeholders and suppliers effectively
- Ability to influence, persuade, and build credibility with internal and external partners
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Supply Chain, or a related field (required)
- Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in contract management, paralegal work, or supply chain
- Experience in the utility, manufacturing, or construction industry preferred
- Experience drafting complex contracts related to Construction, Electrical, EPC, and major equipment with long lead times
- Industry experience in utility, manufacturing, or construction environments strongly preferred
