Job Overview A law firm seeks an Immigration Attorney in Walnut Creek, CA. The firm handles a significant humanitarian and removal defense docket, alongside family-based and adjustment work, requiring an attorney to manage cases from start to finish. Duties Manage a docket of affirmative and defensive protection cases from consultation through decision. Screen for humanitarian relief, withholding of removal, and CATI-589 filings. Handle SIJS matters, including state court hearings and subsequent filings. Prepare and file adjustment, removal of conditions, and naturalization applications. Draft briefs, pre-hearing statements, and respond to RFEs and NOIDs. Appear at master calendar and individual hearings at EOIR, and handle appeals to the BIA. Prepare clients and witnesses for hearings, including cross-examinations. Direct paralegals in case preparation. Monitor critical deadlines and filing requirements. Requirements Active bar license in a U.S. state, in good standing. Fluency in Turkish at a native level and English at a professional level. Willingness to travel for in-person hearings and interviews. Ability to manage a full docket with attention to detail. Immigration experience preferred, but not required. Education Juris Doctor (JD) degree. Certifications Bar admission in a U.S. state. Skills Strong organizational and case management skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
